AEM X-Series Wideband UEGO AFR Gauge — 52mm (30-0300)
The gauge version of AEM's X-Series wideband, for when you want the number in front of you instead of only in the datalog.
Response time is the reason to pick this one. Patented X-Digital wideband technology reads and reports values other controllers don't, and the high-speed digital implementation means no loss of signal fidelity and full transient response — it catches the slightest fluctuations in AFR and outputs them at full value. In independent testing against 17 competitor wideband controllers, the X-Series recorded the fastest response time.
That matters because of deadtime: the delay between when exhaust gas composition actually changes and when the sensor reports it. Less deadtime means better feedback control and a safer, more accurate tune.
The packaging is what makes it fit where others won't. 52mm diameter with a seven-segment center display 87% larger than AEM's previous gauge, in a housing under one inch deep with a cup depth of only .200". That opens up mounting locations a conventional gauge can't use.
User configurable from the gauge face — switch between AFR, Lambda, or O2%, change the center display to three or four digits, run a free-air calibration as the sensor ages, and change the CAN message ID when daisy-chaining multiple controllers.
Outputs: 0-5V analog and RS232 for logging and feedback control, plus AEMnet CAN. Chain multiple controllers for up to 16 cylinders.
Auto-dimming, locking connectors, and a single-board design for durability. Supports system voltage to 16V. Works on EFI and carbureted setups, and on gasoline including leaded race gas, methanol, ethanol, diesel, propane, and CNG.
Black bezel and black dual-faced faceplate included. Silver bezel with white faceplate available separately (30-0300-ACC). Includes Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor.
Sensors are wear items. Leaded fuel, oil contamination, and thermal shock all shorten their life — plan on replacement as maintenance.
