An 8.5" twin disc built for high-horsepower EJ builds that still get driven. Twin discs solve a specific problem: splitting the load across two friction surfaces gives you the clamping capacity a single disc can't reach, without the pedal effort and on-off engagement that comes from chasing the same number with clamp load alone.

Historically, high performance clutches have been a compromise — manufacturers raise clamp pressure to hold power and pedal effort goes to an uncomfortable point, especially in stop-and-go driving. The 850 Series is engineered against that. Pedal pressure comes in around 50 percent over stock, balanced for street use, and the Street configuration pairs a sprung ceramic disc with a fiber tuff rigid disc — smooth operation with real holding capacity.

The pressure plate is where the engineering lives. CNC machined from billet aluminum and Type 3 hard anodized, the cover flexes only .003" under load compared to as much as .030" in a cast or stamped unit. That means the force you're putting into the pedal actually goes into engaging and disengaging the clutch instead of being absorbed by a flexing cover. Quick Release system with spring-loaded bolts for serviceability.

Fitment: 04-21 Subaru WRX STI, 07-09 Legacy GT Spec B and Outback XT — 2.5L turbo 6-speed. Pull type.

Flywheel not included at this part number. Billet 6061-T6 aluminum (SFI 1.2 spec) and 1045 steel options are available separately — 15017-TD8S-SW is the same kit with the steel flywheel included if you'd rather order it as one piece.
