Competition Clutch Ultra Lightweight Steel Flywheel — K-Series, 8.8 lb (2-800-STU)
A one-piece 4140 forged steel flywheel machined down to 8.8 lbs. The STU spec is the race spec — less material than the standard lightweight version, which is what gives the engine its quicker revving capability.
Recommended for forced induction and track or rally racing applications. That framing is the important part. Losing this much rotating mass makes the engine pick up dramatically faster and makes rev-matching easy, but it also means less inertia to carry you off the line. Expect to give it more throttle from a stop and be more deliberate with clutch engagement, especially on a hill.
One-piece construction with an integrated ring gear, which significantly reduces the chances of ring gear separation and friction surface warpage. Stamped from 4140 plate at 2000 tons and 1260 degrees, then CNC machined and balanced to OE specification. Can be resurfaced.
Works with all performance and stock clutch assemblies, and well suited to Stage 3 and up clutch kits.
Exceeds SFI 1.5, so it's legal at any track.
Fitment: 02-08 Acura RSX Base and Type-S, 02-05 Honda Civic Si, 06-09 Civic Si. K-series.
Verify your flywheel step before ordering. Type-S clutches require a Type-S flywheel — mixing base and Type-S components is the most common install problem on this platform.
