Competition Clutch Stage 4 Ceramic Sprung Clutch Kit — K20 6-Speed (8037-1620)

This is the step past the Stage 2, and the one to reach for when a built or boosted K-series is slipping a full-face disc. The 1620 Series provides up to 250% increase in torque capacity, with a six-puck high-torque sprung disc running ceramic buttons for penetrating engagement at higher horsepower.

The important word is sprung. The disc carries a sprung retainer assembly with dual springs and severe-duty retainer rivets, which is what keeps this drivable — unsprung pucks chatter, rattle, and beat on the transmission input. This one holds serious torque and still behaves like a clutch on the street. Pressure plate load is 1700 lbs, disc is 210mm on a 1-1/32" 24-spline hub.

Kit includes performance pressure plate, six-puck sprung ceramic disc, throwout bearing, pilot bearing/bushing where applicable, and alignment tool. Flywheel not included.

Fitment: 02-06 RSX Type-S, 02-05 Civic Si with Type-S flywheel, and 06-11 Civic Si.

Where it lands: rated around 400 lb-ft at the wheels — the right choice for a 400-500 whp turbo K or a hard-driven track car. Pedal effort is up from stock and engagement is quicker than a full-face disc, so it's a step down in refinement from the Stage 2, but nothing like an unsprung puck setup.

Break-in is not optional — 300 miles minimum before you get on it. Glazing a ceramic disc on the first pass is the most common way these fail, and it isn't warrantable.
