King XP-Series Rod Bearing Set — Subaru EJ20/EJ22/EJ25, 52mm Journal, Standard (CR4125XPG)
Race bearings developed for performance applications that use forged steel aftermarket crankshafts and produce high loads for extended periods. pMaxBlack tri-metal construction — copper-lead layered over a steel backing with a nickel plate barrier, and an overlay strengthened by a proprietary nano-scaled hardening process that creates a black fatigue-resistant shield.
The SecureBond micro process gives a 24 percent stronger overlay and 17 percent more fatigue strength than a conventional performance bearing. On a rod journal, fatigue strength is the number that matters — that's the load cycle that kills bearings.
Three geometric features worth knowing:
Increased height improves bearing-to-bore contact and heat transfer, and reduces spin potential at high RPM — the failure that takes a whole rod with it.
Medium eccentricity enables optimum load distribution and improved oiling.
Narrowed design suits large-radius crankshafts, keeping the bearing edge off the fillet.
Bulls Eye tolerance: all shells matched to ±0.0001", the closest wall tolerances in the industry.
Specs: standard size, set of 4 (8 halves, all plain). For 52mm journals — 1999 and later, Phase 2. Earlier EJ cranks use a different journal size and a different part number.
Fitment: Subaru EJ20, EJ22, EJ25 including turbo — 02-14 WRX, 04-21 STI, Forester XT, Legacy GT, Outback XT.
Measure your journals before ordering standard size. If the crank has been ground, you need an undersize set — and a bearing that doesn't match the crank is a knock on the first startup.
