The Street Basis Z is Tein's entry point into height-adjustable suspension, and it's built around a specific choice: OE-level quality with ride height control, minus the adjustment features a casual user won't touch. No damping adjustment, which is what keeps the price where it is. What you get instead is a system Tein tuned to be compliant and sporting out of the box.

The tuning is the reason to buy it. High-speed damper inputs don't upset the chassis, while low-speed movements — highway undulations, that kind of thing — stay tightly controlled. Springs are conservatively chosen for increased cornering loads and weight transition management, so it drives better than stock without punishing you on rough pavement.

Thread-type height adjustment via collars and spring seats. Twin-tube construction. Lowering range is moderate — a drop that's clearly visible and gives the car a more aggressive stance without going slammed.

Springs are cold-formed SAE9254 steel with a minimum tensile strength of 200 kgf/mm², so they resist sag, and a durable powder coating that won't peel or flake handles the salt. Dust boots protect the piston rod and keep debris out of the shock. The threaded section is corrosion-resistant and the bump stops were improved over the earlier Street Basis kit for longevity.

Upper mounts not included. You reuse the ones from your stock assemblies — worth inspecting first, since a 20-year-old mount going back in behind new dampers is a knock you'll chase later.

Not EDFC compatible. Non-adjustable damping.
