Turbosmart TS-1 Performance Turbocharger 5862 — V-Band 0.82 A/R, Externally Wastegated (TS-1-5862B-VB082E)
A 58mm compressor on a 0.82 A/R V-band turbine housing, built around Turbosmart's ultra-low rotating mass bearing and shaft assembly. That's the design goal of the whole TS-1 line: smaller, lighter, and faster spooling than what the size class usually delivers.
The bearing and main shaft combination is proprietary, and the low rotating mass is matched to aggressive compressor aerodynamics — high performance at lower shaft speeds, which is what transient response actually comes from. The turbine wheel is matched to hold power and flow at high load, so it doesn't run out of breath at the top.
Turbosmart designs these end-to-end around the engine rather than as a standalone component, targeting power through reduced back pressure and high-performance turbines. Oil cooled, with lightweight investment cast turbine housings.
Configuration: V-band inlet and outlet, 0.82 A/R, externally wastegated. The V-band housing lets you clock it wherever the manifold puts it, and external gating means you control boost with a proper wastegate rather than an internal flapper.
Sizing: a 5862 lands around 550-600 hp and it's the size to pick when response matters more than the peak number. On a 2.0L four this lights early enough to feel like a bigger engine everywhere, which is exactly what a street car or an autocross build wants.
Everything for the install is included — weld flanges, V-band clamps, gaskets, oil feed and drain fittings. No separate fitting order.
